About the Role

Supply Chain Manager



Inspire Resourcing Ltd are recruiting a Supply Chain Manager for our client based in Sheffield.  This role is open due to recent movement and promotion within the business.


•    Plan, schedule, and manage raw material requirements based on production plans and customer orders for the manufacture process
•    Oversee complete inventory management of raw materials
•    Maintain stock levels
•    Create and maintain accurate material data within the ERP/MRP system to support production and inventory planning.
•    Raise purchase orders in a timely manner and ensure efficient tracking and expediting of materials to meet production deadlines.
•    Proactively seek global cost-down opportunities in the UK and lower cost countries.
•    Provide regular reporting on stock levels, forecasts, supplier performance, and material usage to internal stakeholders.
•    Support sourcing and material planning for new product developments, working closely with R&D and Engineering departments.
•    Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline planning, stock management, and procurement processes. .
•    Expedite critical material orders to meet production and customer delivery schedules.
•    Build and maintain effective supplier relationships to ensure reliable and consistent material supply, minimising shortages and lead times.
•    Work closely with Production, Purchasing, Finance, and Engineering teams to align material planning with operational and financial goals.
•    Communicate and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless material flow through the production process.
•    Act as a key liaison between the business and external suppliers to resolve material issues and delivery concerns proactively.
•    Take ownership of material planning processes, ensuring personal accountability for meeting deadlines and targets.
•    Monitor and evaluate planning and procurement activities regularly, suggesting improvements and taking initiative where efficiencies can be gained.
•    Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data, reporting, and ordering processes.
•    Manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.



Requirements

Desired Experience / Skills:

•    Working within a material resource/buyer/purchasing role 

•    Completed a course in Procurement CIPS a distinct advantage

•    Strong communication (written and verbal, speaking and listening) 

•    Strong people skills

 •    Good preparation and planning skills

 •    Good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages

 •    Strong multi-tasking ability 

•    Good negotiation skills

 •    Strong problem solving skills 

•Good organisational/prioritising skills 

•    Good analytical ability 

•    Valid Full UK Driving Licence

 

The Package:

•    Salary: 35-40K


•    Hours: Days in the office with some travel to supplier sites when required
