What You'll Do:
In this role you will be responsible for managing and supporting a team of assemblers and technicians to assemble and test monitoring equipment.
The main duties are the role are as follows:-
To build, test, calibrate and repair of a wide variety of electronic assemblies.
Functional testing of both new and existing product at the sub-assembly, PCB and the completed instrument level.
Undertake the building and testing a wide variety of electronic assemblies, from discrete PCB’s to finished product.
Responsible for the fault find and repair product both at the PCB level and finished product.
Responsible for recording test results accurately.
Responsible for reviewing the build/test data and determine opportunities for improvement in yield and process performance. Knowledge,
Task, support and manage the team on a day-to-day basis
Responsible for ensuring that every member of their team is appraised in accordance with the company’s appraisal team
Lead by example, ensuring a safe and efficient workplace is always maintained and production quality is maximised
Establishes priorities to ensure assemble team works at peak efficiency
Reports on team performance to the Operations Manager.
Controls and organises flow of material out of WIP into assembly area to maximise efficiency
Makes recommendations about ways to improve team efficiency, increase quality
Delegates build tasks so that assemble/test team can meet production deadlines
Actively committed to driving team motivation, development, and commitment
Assist with working across all areas within test to support busier periods
Directly reports each day to Manufacturing coordinator on status of products and status into assembly department
Committed to implementation of Lean Manufacturing techniques within the department
Ensure 5’s that is implemented is getting completely- weekly audits
Attending weekly production meeting with up-to-date information of the status of orders in build and WIP
Requirements
You must possess strong technical skills and be able to fault find at PCB level.
The ability to interpret a schematic circuit diagram is therefore critical.
You will have some degree of manufacturing experience and be able to repair PCB assemblies and must be capable of multi-tasking and be able to manage multiple activities at once.
Ideally you will have experience of managing a small team and be able to work independently but be a strong team player. You must have experience of working to deadlines with shifting priorities and be an effective communicator.
