About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Moulder to join a well-established foundry and heavy engineering business in Chesterfield. Working as part of a skilled production team, you will be responsible for producing moulds to specification, preparing materials, and supporting the manufacture of high-quality steel.


This role would suit an individual with previous foundry experience or someone with a strong manufacturing background looking to develop a career within a specialist engineering environment.


Key Responsibilities


  • Produce and assemble moulds in accordance with engineering drawings and production requirements.

  • Prepare moulding materials, patterns, cores, and associated equipment.

  • Carry out moulding operations to ensure they meet quality standards.

  • Inspect moulds and completed work for defects and report any quality concerns.

  • Assist with the pouring, shakeout, and finishing processes when required.

  • Operate foundry equipment and hand tools safely and efficiently.

  • Work closely with colleagues across production and maintenance teams to achieve daily production targets.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working area.

  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the foundry.

Requirements

Skills & Experience Required


  • Previous experience as a Moulder, Foundry Operative, Production Operative, or within a heavy manufacturing environment.

  • Knowledge of moulding processes and foundry operations would be advantageous.

  • Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings.

  • Experience working with hand tools and industrial equipment.

  • Good attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.

  • Physically fit and comfortable working in a demanding industrial environment.

  • Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
