About the Role

Assemble, install, maintain and repair various mechanical components to create functioning equipment. Install Plant and equipment/steelwork to drawings provided. Travel to both UK and International customer sites.

  • Follow instructions and tasks set by superiors. Report all non-conformances to superiors.

  • Construct and assemble mechanical equipment using components bought in and made in-house.

  • Carry out maintenance activities on mechanical equipment both in the workshop and on customer sites.

  • Work in a safe manner following company and customer health, safety and quality procedures.

  • Understand and work to mechanical system blueprints.

  • Maintain productivity by working effectively and safely.

  • Ensure high standards and quality of work are maintained.

  • Report daily activities.

  • Ensure equipment is maintained and not misused. Report damages or breakages.

  • Inspect and measure completed work.

  • Organise equipment and plant for assigned tasks.

  • Manage own performance to meet role requirements.

  • Maintain excellent relationships with colleagues and customers.

  • Demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and act as a positive role model.

  • Maintain a smart appearance and act in a professional manner at all times when representing the company.

Requirements

  • Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent experience.

  • Willingness to visit customer sites globally, as required (essential).

  • Willingness to learn.

  • Ability to work in a small team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Competent in bench fitting techniques.

  • Competent in the use of hand tools

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and time-management skills.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and positively.

  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload and follow assembly procedures.

  • Ability to make constructive and reasonable decisions.

  • Good written, numerical, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.

  • Flexible approach to work, able to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent timekeeping and attendance.
