About the Role

Junior Project Engineer


Inspire is looking to recruit a Junior Project Engineer to join our growing team in Chesterfield. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a foundation in engineering-whether through education or hands-on experience-who is comfortable reading technical drawings, can carry out basic design work, and is eager to grow into a project engineering role.


Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the delivery of engineering projects, tracking progress, updating schedules, and coordinating with internal teams and suppliers.

• Carry out basic design and drawing work using CAD software (Creo or similar), including updates to existing parts and documentation.

• Interpret and review technical drawings, BOMs, and production specifications.

• Maintain and update engineering documentation, including change records, datasheets, and production files.

• Input and manage data in the ERP system, supporting traceability and material/resource tracking.

• Help book deliveries, track orders, and match delivery notes against purchase orders.

• Work closely with the Technical Manager, contributing to project plans, supplier follow-ups, and internal task prioritisation.


Requirements


• Engineering qualification (e.g., HNC/HND, apprenticeship, or degree) or equivalent hands-on experience in a technical environment would be an advantage.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

• Experience using CAD software (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks, or similar) for basic design or modification tasks.

• Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges in both design and project engineering.
