About the Role

Overview


A well‑established industrial manufacturer is seeking a hands-on Electrical Maintenance Technician to support the reliability, safety, and performance of a wide range of plant equipment. This role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and takes pride in maintaining high engineering standards.

Flexibility is essential, including overtime and occasional weekend work, to ensure the smooth running of the facility.


Key Responsibilities


  • Respond immediately to breakdowns, carrying out fault diagnosis and repairs safely and efficiently.

  • Complete daily written reports covering work completed, spares usage, stock levels, and PPM activity.

  • Monitor spare parts and identify when stock levels require replenishment.

  • Carry out preventative maintenance tasks and HSE checks.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and project work aimed at increasing plant reliability, reducing costs, and improving energy efficiency.

  • Work independently and as part of the on-site Maintenance Team.


Equipment & Systems Exposure


Experience with the following equipment is beneficial (training can be provided):

  • Sand mixers

  • Overhead cranes

  • Shotblast machinery

  • Welding equipment

  • Grinding, burning & fettling equipment

  • Shell & sand moulding machinery

  • Induction furnaces

  • Gas-fired heat treatment furnaces

  • Sand reclamation systems

  • Boilerclaves, humidifiers, compressors & chillers

  • AC motors and variable speed drives

  • PLC controls, thermocouples, and process controllers

  • Communicates clearly within the team and across departments.

  • Contributes positively to out-of-hours and weekend working when required.

Requirements

  • Completed Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Maintenance Technician within an industrial environment.

  • Strong electrical fault-finding skills and the ability to diagnose and repair complex electrical systems.

  • Capable of carrying out electrical installations including cabling, power supplies, and associated infrastructure.

  • Physically fit and comfortable working at height using access equipment or ladders.

  • Able to communicate effectively and work well within a team.

  • Demonstrates good organisational skills, including workload prioritisation and time management.

  • Proficient in reading electrical drawings and technical documentation.

  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Maintenance Engineering.

  • Skilled in panel building and wiring, including control circuits and motor starters.

  • Reliable, trustworthy, and committed to safe working practices.
