Warehouse Supervisor

A forward thinking and ambitious family business are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, organised, and safety conscious Warehouse Supervisor to oversee their warehouse operations at their new flagship site in Chesterfield. The ideal successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day warehouse operations such as: managing order fulfilment, leading a team, and managing inventory whilst ensuring efficient processes are identified, implemented, and maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
· Order Fulfilment: Oversee the picking, packing, and shipping of orders, ensuring timely delivery to customers and exceptional levels of accuracy.
· Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records and oversee stock control processes to ensure the availability of products.
· Team Leadership: Lead a high performing team, train, and motivate warehouse staff to achieve productivity and safety goals.
· Recruitment and resource management.
· Process Optimization: Develop and implement efficient warehouse procedures to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
· Safety Compliance QHSE: Ensure and promote adherence to safety regulations and best practices, quality, and operating a safe working environment.
· Equipment Management: Maintain and manage warehouse equipment. Liaising with 3rd party suppliers to ensure scheduled maintenance and required repairs.
· Reporting: Prepare regular reports on inventory levels, productivity metrics, and other key performance indicators.
Requirements
Skills / Experience:
Management / supervisory experience within a warehouse or logistics environment
Ambition, drive, and motivated by team success
Proven experience leading a warehouse team in a fast-paced environment
Team player with a hands on approach able to support the operation as required e.g. some heavy lifting, being on the floor for long periods, and carrying out warehouse tasks to deliver customer service
Able to create an inclusive and supportive culture
Strong QHSE focus and awareness
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with MS Office packages such as Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint etc.
Logical and analytical approach to problem solving
Able to lead by example, motivate, develop, and coach your team
Experience using WMS (warehouse management systems), ERP, or similar systems
Understanding of LEAN / 6 Sigma (desirable)
Comfortable managing upwards, as well as downwards
Qualifications:
Counterbalance and articulated forklift licenses required (refreshed within the last 3 years is highly desirable)
Driving license
IOSH (desirable)
ILM qualification (desirable)
Hours: Full time, Monday-Friday 8:30-5:00PM (40 hours) flexibility will be required
Pay & Benefits: £28,000 - £30,000 DOE
29 days annual leave inclusive of statutory days
